The Federal University Otuoke (FUO), a premier federal institution located in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the position of Senior Lecturer in Surveying and Geo-Informatics (GIS Option) within the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Surveying and Geo-Informatics with a strong emphasis on Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Initiate, develop, and independently supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects and theses.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic accreditation processes.
- Mentor students and participate in community engagement and institutional service initiatives as outlined in university guidelines.
- Possess a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and a Ph.D. degree in Surveying, Geo-Informatics, GIS, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a requisite number of years of teaching and research experience in an approved tertiary institution.
