The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dynamic and experienced academic professional to join our esteemed Department of Engineering as a Senior Lecturer in Production Engineering. In this role, you will shape the future of engineering education in Nigeria, inspiring the next generation of innovators while advancing cutting-edge research in production processes, manufacturing systems, and industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Production Engineering.
- Supervise undergraduate final year projects and postgraduate theses (MSc and PhD).
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee duties.
- Mentor students and provide academic counseling to foster professional growth.
- Engage in community service and industry partnerships to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical engineering applications.
- A PhD in Production Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Must possess a minimum of eight (8) quality peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Possession of a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Active registration with relevant professional bodies such as COREN is mandatory.
