About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dedicated and experienced academic professional to fill the role of Senior Lecturer in Ocular Health and Contact Lens Practice within the Department of Optometry. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Ocular Health and Contact Lens Practice to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, theses, and clinical training.
- Conduct high-quality, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee assignments.
- Contribute to community outreach programs and clinical services provided by the Department of Optometry.
- Possession of a PhD in Optometry or a closely related field with a strong focus on Ocular Health or Contact Lens Practice.
- Minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed publications in reputable local and international journals.
- A first degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
