About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and experienced academic professional to join our prestigious Department of Nursing Sciences as a Senior Lecturer in Medical-Surgical Nursing. In this role, you will contribute to academic excellence through high-quality teaching, groundbreaking research, and mentorship of the next generation of healthcare leaders in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures and practical training in Medical-Surgical Nursing to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and clinical placements.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in departmental curriculum development, academic accreditation processes, and administrative duties.
- Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to community health initiatives led by the university.
- A Ph.D. in Nursing Sciences or a closely related medical-surgical field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Must possess at least eight (8) quality peer-reviewed publications in recognized national and international journals.
- Possession of a First Degree with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a Ph.D.
- Current practicing license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
