About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a prestigious federal university known for academic distinction and innovative research. We are currently seeking a dynamic and accomplished Senior Lecturer to join our Department of Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. In this pivotal role, you will shape the next generation of engineers by delivering high-quality instruction, conducting cutting-emperature research, and contributing to the academic advancement of our Mechatronics Engineering program.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mechatronics Engineering.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Design, update, and evaluate curriculum content to align with current industry standards and NUC guidelines.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, committees, and community service initiatives.
- Mentor junior academic staff and foster a collaborative, intellectually stimulating learning environment.
- Possession of a PhD in Mechatronics Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active tertiary-level teaching and research experience.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) quality peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Must hold a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division accompanied by a PhD.
