We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Lecturer to join our Department of Optometry within the Faculty of Life Sciences. In this role, you will shape the next generation of eye care professionals, contribute to groundbreaking research in Environmental and Public Health Optometry, and uphold our commitment to academic rigor and community service.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Optometry with a specialized focus on Environmental and Public Health Optometry.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee meetings.
- Mentor students and provide guidance on academic and career development pathways.
- Collaborate with industry partners and public health organizations on community outreach and eye care initiatives.
- Possession of a PhD in Optometry or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must possess a First Degree in Optometry with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division accompanied by a PhD.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- A strong publication record comprising a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals.
- Demonstrated ability to attract research grants and collaborate across disciplines is an added advantage.
