Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Lecturer in Economics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic landscape of our university by undertaking the following duties:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in various areas of Economics.
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
  • Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish extensively in reputable academic journals.
  • Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement of academic programs.
  • Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
  • Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees.
  • Engage in community service initiatives and collaborative partnerships that align with the university's vision.
Qualifications

Candidates applying for this position must meet the following rigorous academic and professional standards:

  • Possession of a PhD Degree in Economics or a closely related relevant field from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 2 years of continuous academic experience as a Lecturer I.
  • A strong research portfolio with at least 15 peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets.
  • Must include a minimum of 3 publications indexed in either Scopus or Web of Science.
  • Demonstrated ICT proficiency with modern educational technologies and learning management systems.
  • Active membership in relevant professional bodies within the field of economics or academia.
  • Compulsory possession of an NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate.
