About the Role
Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Limited is a leading indigenous multidisciplinary organization delivering world-class Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation services within the Nigerian oil and gas sector. We are currently expanding our technical team and seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Drilling Engineer to oversee and optimize complex drilling operations. In this strategic role, you will leverage your extensive industry expertise to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance across all offshore projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Design, plan, and execute comprehensive offshore drilling programs in alignment with industry best practices and company standards.
- Monitor daily drilling operations, troubleshoot technical challenges, and implement immediate corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Manage operational budgets, select appropriate drilling contractors, and oversee the procurement of essential oilfield equipment and services.
- Ensure strict adherence to Nigerian health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards across all project phases.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, drilling programs, and end-of-well evaluations for senior management and clients.
- Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer within the multidisciplinary technical team.
- Collaborate closely with HSE officers to conduct rigorous risk assessments and promote a proactive safety culture on the rig.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of progressive engineering experience within the upstream oil and gas sector, specifically in offshore drilling operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in well design, drill string mechanics, hydraulics, directional drilling, and blowout prevention.
- Valid industry certifications including IWCF or well control credentials.
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of working effectively in high-pressure offshore environments.
