We are seeking a highly competent, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Accounts team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, monitoring budgets, ensuring statutory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support sound business decisions within our healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial transactions, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Maintain proper and accurate records of income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and financial commitments.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements, management accounts, and periodic accounting schedules.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and promptly investigate any financial discrepancies.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage organizational budgets, financial forecasts, and cash-flow projections.
  • Review invoices, payment requests, receipts, and all supporting financial documentation for accuracy and authorization.
  • Monitor payroll-related accounting processes and ensure accurate remittance of statutory deductions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with applicable accounting standards, Nigerian tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
  • Liaise with relevant tax authorities and professionals to manage corporate tax obligations efficiently.
  • Identify financial risks, operational discrepancies, and internal control weaknesses, recommending practical solutions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Recognized professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or an equivalent certification is a distinct advantage.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong background in healthcare, hospitals, or medical facilities preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing standards.
  • Deep understanding of Nigerian tax laws, statutory requirements, and financial compliance frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Proven expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, bank reconciliations, and executive-level reporting.
  • Exceptional numerical, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Unwavering level of professional integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
