About the Role
Cedarville School, a premier co-educational Christian institution situated in a serene estate in Akobo, Ibadan, is looking for a passionate and qualified School Librarian. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in nurturing our students morally, academically, and intellectually by maintaining an engaging, well-organized, and resourceful library environment that supports our nursery, primary, and secondary curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, organize, and catalog the school's library collection of books, digital resources, and periodicals.
- Create a welcoming, quiet, and conducive environment for study, research, and reading.
- Guide students and staff in selecting appropriate reading materials and conducting academic research.
- Implement modern library management systems and oversee the borrowing and returning processes.
- Promote a strong reading culture through engaging literacy programs, book clubs, and reading competitions.
- Ensure the library is well-stocked with age-appropriate and curriculum-aligned educational materials.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field.
- Proven professional experience working as a librarian, preferably within a school environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in modern library software and digital resource management.
