About the Role
Nutri K Limited is dedicated to the fight against malnutrition in Nigeria, specializing in the manufacturing of specialized nutritional foods for children. We are currently seeking a vigilant and proactive Safety Marshal to support the implementation and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) rules at our workplace. In this role, you will ensure safe working conditions, promote safety awareness, prevent accidents, and assist in responding to workplace emergencies.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce company safety policies, rules, and procedures, conducting routine site safety inspections around extrusion processing areas.
- Monitor compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage and ensure machine guards, emergency stop buttons, and LOTO requirements are strictly maintained.
- Identify workplace hazards, conduct basic risk assessments, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Promptly report and assist in investigating accidents, near misses, and safety violations.
- Act as a first responder during emergencies, guide evacuation procedures, and ensure firefighting equipment remains accessible and functional.
- Participate in safety inductions, toolbox talks, and promote a positive safety culture across the site.
- Exercise authority to halt unsafe work posing immediate risks and recommend disciplinary actions for repeated safety breaches.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of prior HSE experience within a manufacturing or food processing environment; experience in extrusion, milling, or warehouse operations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
