About the Role
Advancing Health for Humanitarian Support Initiative (AIDHealth Inc.) is a dynamic, non-profit organization dedicated to bridging systemic healthcare gaps for vulnerable populations across Nigeria. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Safeguarding & Ethics Focal Point Officer to ensure the highest standards of ethics, data protection, and safeguarding across our humanitarian programs. In this vital role, you will champion a survivor-centred approach, manage sensitive disclosures, and uphold our commitment to safety and accountability in Northern Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit comprehensive research ethics applications and Data Protection Impact Assessments in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA 2023).
- Execute disclosure-escalation protocols promptly, notifying partners of risks to identifiable persons and routing cases to vetted support services.
- Manage informed consent processes effectively for all community panel members and research participants.
- Organize crucial psychosocial support for project coders and maintain a secure, restricted incident log with utmost discretion.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work, Public Health, Law, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), or GBV case management within Northern Nigeria.
- Thorough knowledge of local GBV referral pathways and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
- Professional fluency in both written and spoken Hausa and English.
- Preferred: Certification in PSEA or child safeguarding, alongside prior experience working with a research ethics committee.
