About the Role
Prudential Plc provides life and health insurance and asset management to millions of customers across Asia and Africa. We are currently looking for a results-driven Retail Claims Officer to join our vibrant team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our commitment to customer trust by ensuring the efficient, accurate, and empathetic processing of individual life insurance claims within established timelines.
Key Responsibilities- Process and administer Individual Life insurance claims, including terminations, partial withdrawals, maturities, and death claims.
- Review claim submissions meticulously to validate supporting documentation and ensure complete information before processing.
- Investigate claims and verify policy coverage to determine validity and entitlement prior to settlement.
- Prepare claim payment memoranda for management and Board approval in line with approved authority limits.
- Maintain accurate claims records, including files, supporting documents, and communication logs.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly claims reports for management review.
- Provide stellar customer service by responding promptly to enquiries and guiding clients through the claims journey.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex claims issues swiftly.
- Support internal controls, audits, and compliance activities by addressing audit queries.
- Assist in business retention through remarketing matured policies and identifying new growth opportunities.
- Bachelor Degree or HND in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional insurance qualifications such as ACIIN or ACII will be a distinct advantage.
- Three to five years of proven experience in insurance claims administration, customer service, or insurance operations.
- Strong understanding of life insurance products, policy terms, conditions, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with exceptional data collection, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
