About the Role
Zodel Biotec is a prominent biotechnology company in Nigeria focused on providing advanced life sciences infrastructure, diagnostic and research products, and specialized laboratory services across Africa. We are currently expanding our multidisciplinary scientific capabilities in genomics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and laboratory innovation, and we are looking for a dynamic Research Scientist to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities- Support and conduct cutting-edge scientific research projects and design experimental workflows.
- Perform advanced molecular and laboratory procedures, including genomics and sequencing-related workflows.
- Analyze and interpret complex biological datasets while supporting bioinformatics activities.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure strict adherence to laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Evaluate emerging technologies, laboratory platforms, and environmental biodiversity projects.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, scientific documentation, and support research collaborations.
- Provide expert scientific input to commercial teams on technically complex projects and assist with technical training.
- Maintain uncompromising laboratory quality, safety, and documentation standards.
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Environmental Biology, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant research and laboratory experience in a professional or academic setting.
- Strong scientific reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and a proven aptitude for independent investigation.
- Exceptional laboratory documentation skills and attention to detail.
