About the Role
Join the Tony Elumelu Foundation as our new Research Manager and play a pivotal role in driving Africa's economic and social transformation. Grounded in our foundational philosophy of Africapitalism, this influential position will spearhead the resurgence of the Africapitalism Institute as a leading pan-African thought leadership and research platform. You will champion rigorous, independent, and policy-relevant research that empowers African entrepreneurs and accelerates private-sector-led growth across the continent.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the revival, strategic direction, and operationalization of the Africapitalism Institute.
- Design and develop Africapitalism-focused curricula, teaching materials, and learning frameworks for academic and executive education.
- Translate research, data, and case studies into structured academic content including course syllabi, lecture modules, and assessment tools.
- Design rigorous quantitative and qualitative research methodologies consistent with global academic and ethical standards.
- Lead advanced data analysis using internal and external datasets to generate actionable insights on enterprise development.
- Engage policymakers, academics, think tanks, and multilateral institutions to advance the Africapitalism discourse.
- Contribute to institutional resource mobilization through strategic grants, commissioned research, and sustainable partnerships.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Economics, Public Policy, Political Economy, Business, Statistics, or related fields.
- Current or recent academic appointment at a recognized university or research institution is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in academic, policy, or applied research environments.
- Proven expertise in designing surveys, managing large datasets, and conducting advanced econometric analysis.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analytical software such as Stata, SPSS, or equivalent tools.
