About the Role
Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, a leading indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturing group in Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and experienced API Research & Development Manager. In this pivotal role, you will provide critical technical leadership for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) technology transfer, process validation, process development, and the expansion of our sustainable product pipeline. Key Responsibilities- Lead the completion of API manufacturing and analytical method technology transfer activities for identified legacy APIs.
- Plan, coordinate, and document API process-validation batches, including protocols, batch records, and validation reports.
- Review development protocols, processes, and technical documents to ensure strict compliance with GMP standards.
- Identify technical gaps, process risks, and opportunities for continuous process optimisation, troubleshooting, and scale-up.
- Apply Quality by Design (QbD) and risk-based development principles to enhance manufacturing robustness.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, QA, QC, Regulatory Affairs, and external technical partners to achieve project milestones.
- Conduct preliminary technical assessments of new API opportunities and develop implementation frameworks for future projects.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification in pharmaceutical manufacturing or process development is a distinct advantage.
- Extensive professional experience in API research and development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, technology transfer, or process validation.
- Strong working knowledge of GMP, Quality by Design (QbD), and technical documentation.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional technical projects and coordinate with external partners.
