We are currently looking for a passionate and digitally adept Reporter/Editor to join our expanding team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping our digital narrative, producing high-impact journalism, and managing content across multiple online channels.
Key Responsibilities- Research, write, and edit original, engaging news content for our digital platforms.
- Conduct interviews, cover live events, and generate creative story ideas aligned with current trends.
- Upload, format, and manage articles on our blog using modern Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress.
- Collaborate with the tech and design teams to optimize stories for SEO, readability, and audience engagement.
- Curate and distribute content across various social media platforms while monitoring analytics.
- Ensure factual accuracy, clarity, and strict adherence to editorial guidelines across all submissions.
- Monitor local and global news developments to keep our audience well-informed.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, or related fields.
- 1 to 3 years of proven experience in journalism, blogging, or online media, though exceptional fresh graduates with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of digital journalism, multimedia storytelling, and the Nigerian news landscape.
- Proficiency in IT tools, Content Management Systems, and basic graphic design tools such as Canva.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and social media management tools.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
