About the Role
BBC Media Action is seeking dedicated Quality Control Supervisors to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of research quality and ethical compliance across our multiplatform communication projects. You will supervise fieldwork operations, verify data integrity, and maintain rigorous quality assurance standards that uphold our reputation for world-class research and development impact.

Our projects—including health radio shows addressing maternal and neonatal health, HIV/AIDS, and communicable diseases, alongside governance-focused radio dramas in Hausa and Pidgin English—directly impact millions of lives. As a QC Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring these programmes reach and resonate with their intended audiences.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise recruiters and moderators during all fieldwork activities
- Verify participant eligibility and assess recruitment quality standards
- Observe Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and In-Depth Interviews (IDIs) to ensure strict adherence to research protocols
- Review field notes, recordings, and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
- Monitor compliance with ethical standards, including informed consent procedures and participant safeguarding
- Provide real-time feedback and support to field teams; resolve emerging challenges promptly
- Prepare comprehensive quality assurance reports and regular updates for the project management team
- Proven experience in research quality control, fieldwork supervision, or related roles
- Strong understanding of qualitative research methodologies and ethical research practices
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and lead field teams effectively
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Hausa and/or Pidgin English preferred
