About the Role
Owolabi University is a newly established private university located in Oke-Ila Orangun, Osun State, operating from its take-off site in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. Licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on June 29, 2026, the institution is dedicated to widening access to quality higher education and preparing graduates for a fast-changing world. We are currently seeking an experienced and visionary Professor to join our Faculty of Computing and drive academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strong academic leadership in teaching, research, and curriculum development within the Faculty of Computing.
- Conduct high-impact research and actively secure research grants and fellowships from reputable national and international bodies.
- Successfully supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students to foster academic growth and professional development.
- Participate actively in administrative duties, departmental governance, and university committee assignments.
- Mentor junior academic staff and promote innovative pedagogical approaches aligned with global standards.
- Possess a Ph.D. degree from a reputable university with a specialization in Science Laboratory or a closely related Computing discipline.
- Demonstrate evidence of outstanding academic leadership with a minimum of 25 scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Have at least 12 years of post-qualification full-time relevant teaching, research, and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.
- Show a proven ability to attract research grants and fellowships, alongside evidence of successful postgraduate student supervision.
- Relevant professional qualifications in the field of study will be an added advantage.
