About the Role
Owolabi University is a newly established private institution located in Oke-Ila Orangun, Osun State, currently operating from its take-off site in Osogbo. Licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in June 2026, our university is dedicated to delivering world-class higher education and preparing graduates for global competitiveness. We are currently seeking a dynamic and accomplished Professor of Accounting to drive our Department of Social Sciences forward through visionary academic leadership, innovative research, and excellence in teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strong academic leadership in the Department of Accounting within the Faculty of Social Science.
- Deliver engaging, high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in accounting and related disciplines.
- Mentor junior academic staff and successfully supervise postgraduate students, including Ph.D. candidates.
- Drive institutional research output and actively attract competitive research grants and international fellowships.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and university-wide committees.
- Contribute to community engagement initiatives and forge strategic partnerships with professional accounting bodies.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline from a reputable and accredited university.
- Minimum of 12 years of post-qualification, full-time teaching, research, and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.
- A robust academic portfolio with at least 25 scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of academic leadership and successful supervision of postgraduate students to completion.
- Proven track record of securing research grants and academic fellowships.
- Relevant professional qualifications in accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, ANAN) are mandatory.
