M54 Studios is an African theatre production company born from a mission to elevate African storytelling across live theatre, film, and digital platforms. From sold-out UK stage productions to the development of a premium streaming platform, M54 builds cultural IP that travels and redefines how African stories reach global audiences. We are currently looking for a visionary Production Designer / Set Designer to join our dynamic creative team in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Designs and delivers the visual world of the show, including sets, environments, and overall art direction that supports the narrative on stage or camera.
- Collaborates closely with directors, producers, and creative teams to translate conceptual scripts into stunning physical and digital realities.
- Manages spatial planning, prop sourcing, model making, and technical drawings while adhering to allocated project budgets and production timelines.
- Supervises the construction, painting, and installation of set pieces, ensuring high safety standards and aesthetic excellence throughout the production cycle.
- Adapts designs seamlessly across diverse mediums, including live theatrical performances, film shoots, and digital streaming content.
- Proven professional experience as a Production Designer, Set Designer, or Art Director within theatre, film, or television production.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative vision, spatial awareness, and a deep appreciation for African art, culture, and aesthetics.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software, CAD tools, sketching, and physical model-making techniques.
- Exceptional collaboration, project management, and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced creative environment.
