About the Role
Softhills Limited is an innovative venture builder that invests knowledge, infrastructure, and capital to scale businesses from startup to exit. We are currently looking for a dynamic, street-smart Procurement Officer to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in identifying profitable products, securing reliable suppliers, and ensuring high-quality standards across both local Nigerian markets and international sourcing channels.
Key Responsibilities- Source profitable products from local markets (such as Balogun, Trade Fair, and Alaba), Nigerian online vendors, and international platforms like Alibaba and 1688.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive database of trusted suppliers, tracking pricing, minimum order quantities, and lead times.
- Negotiate competitive prices, credit terms, discounts, and delivery schedules while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Inspect samples and bulk goods for quality, authenticity, and compliance with brand standards.
- Coordinate with logistics partners and freight forwarders to ensure safe and timely delivery of goods to the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and submit weekly sourcing reports detailing costs, margins, and supplier performance.
- Proven experience in product sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the Nigerian retail or e-commerce sector.
- Strong negotiation skills with a deep understanding of local market dynamics and pricing strategies.
- Familiarity with international importation processes, landing cost calculations, and global platforms such as Alibaba or Turkey/Dubai markets.
- Proficiency in basic office tools like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for inventory and price tracking.
