About the Role
The People Practice is partnering with a prestigious co-educational secondary school in Nigeria to recruit a dynamic and results-driven Procurement Manager. In this role, you will establish and maintain robust systems for supply chain planning, procurement, volume forecasting, and shipping while building strategic relationships with suppliers and marketing partners to support the institution's operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct leadership and strategy for the procurement of goods, educational materials, and services.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive procurement policy and contract management procedures.
- Manage end-to-end supply chain processes, including vendor management and performance tracking.
- Facilitate prompt sourcing, monitoring, and inventory control of all materials, equipment, and food items.
- Conduct market surveys, cost analysis, and risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Liaise with local suppliers, exporters, inspection officers, shipping clearing agents, and financial institutions.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives, track functional metrics, and build a culture of long-term savings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CIPS, CSCP, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant procurement and supply chain experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven expertise in using ERP or advanced procurement systems.
