About the Role

HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leading building solutions company in Sub-Saharan Africa, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Process Engineer to join our vibrant team in Sagamu. In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing effective systems, tools, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, improve manufacturing processes, elevate product quality, and drive cost reduction initiatives across our plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously analyze equipment and system performance, including specific electrical and thermal energy consumption, to achieve operational budget targets.
  • Promote the increased use of Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials (AFR), providing technical expertise to evaluate their impact and develop solutions for seamless integration.
  • Cooperate in the design, economic feasibility studies, commissioning, and de-bottlenecking of new or modified systems and equipment.
  • Ensure stringent adherence to process safety, environmental regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, supervise production personnel, and conduct comprehensive training to build robust process knowledge across the plant.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of Expert Optimizers and lead continuous performance optimization and benchmarking projects.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical process control methods, experimental design, and traditional process control tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies and conducting plant audits, material balances, and process measurements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
