About the Role
Broadoaks British School is an esteemed all-through international institution located in the prestigious Maitama district of Abuja, Nigeria. Since 2016, we have provided exceptional education from reception through year 10, expanding to year 11 in 2025, while adhering to the national curriculum for England and Wales, iGCSE, and Cambridge checkpoints. We are currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and contribute to our high standards of academic and pastoral excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the lead primary teacher in delivering engaging lessons based on the British curriculum.
- Support individual students and small groups with differentiated learning activities and SEN support needs.
- Prepare classroom materials, learning resources, and displays to create an inspiring learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, behavior, and participation to provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive behavior management of all children within the classroom and school grounds.
- Supervise students during break times, extra-curricular activities, and school trips as required.
- Possess relevant academic qualifications in education, early childhood, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar childcare and educational setting.
- Sound understanding of primary education principles and the British curriculum framework.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
