About the Role
Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), a leading African corporate and investment bank, is looking for a dedicated Portfolio Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing, monitoring, and reporting on the bank's credit portfolio across multiple business segments, ensuring strict adherence to risk appetites and regulatory frameworks while driving optimal risk-adjusted returns.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor key parameters for the Credit Risk Appetite Framework and track counterparty limits.
- Support portfolio stress testing, scenario analysis, and the annual ICAAP workflow.
- Compute and report credit risk capital in accordance with Basel requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Manage the Expected Credit Loss (ECL) model to ensure compliance with IFRS 9 and prudential requirements.
- Conduct daily monitoring of client exposures and product pillars, escalating breaches to appropriate authorities.
- Automate data gathering, reporting processes, and statistical models to quantify portfolio parameters.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, regulatory examiners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of Second-Class Upper division or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Professional qualification in accounting, finance, or risk management is highly desirable.
- 3 to 4 years of proven experience in credit risk, portfolio analysis, or a related banking function.
- Proficiency in MS Office with advanced Excel skills, SQL, and Power BI.
- Strong analytical, statistical, financial modeling, and report-writing skills.
