About the Role

The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board is seeking a dedicated and qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our network of general hospitals, clinics, and medical stores by ensuring the safe and efficient handling of pharmaceutical products. Operating under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, you will help deliver exceptional patient care and maintain rigorous standards of medication management across Katsina State.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in dispensing medications accurately under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Receive, process, and verify patient prescription orders in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, package, and label pharmaceutical products according to established healthcare standards.
  • Maintain and update precise pharmacy records, logs, and patient documentation.
  • Monitor drug inventory levels, track expiration dates, and report potential shortages proactively.
  • Ensure the proper storage, temperature control, and handling of all pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Support basic drug compounding and preparation procedures as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized pharmacy workspace adhering to safety protocols.
  • Provide basic, non-diagnostic medication information and guidance to patients under supervision.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a Diploma or Certificate as a Pharmacy Technician from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the relevant professional regulatory body in Nigeria.
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical procedures, drug classifications, and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and high accuracy in medication handling.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Relevant clinical or hospital pharmacy experience is an added advantage.
