About the Role
Imo Robotic Surgery and Oncology Centre Limited is a pioneering, state-of-the-art medical institution established through a strategic Public-Private Partnership with the Imo State Government. Located at the Imo State Specialist Hospital in Umuguma, Owerri, our centre is poised to become West Africa's premier hub for advanced minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive cancer care. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Peri-Operative Nurse to join our elite healthcare team and help us eliminate outbound medical tourism by providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide holistic, high-quality nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams in operating rooms, specifically supporting advanced robotic and minimally invasive surgeries.
- Ensure strict adherence to sterilization, infection control, and patient safety protocols within the theatre environment.
- Manage and maintain specialized surgical instrumentation and advanced technological equipment.
- Monitor patient vital signs closely throughout the peri-operative continuum and respond swiftly to critical changes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with hospital standards.
- Must be a registered nurse and midwife with a valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Post-basic certification in Peri-Operative Nursing is strictly required.
- Minimum of 3 years of active clinical experience in an operating theatre setting.
- Familiarity with robotic surgery or advanced minimally invasive procedures is a distinct advantage.
