About the Role
Beryl's Book Barn is a premier children's bookstore, library, and educational services provider based in Lagos, Nigeria, specializing in curated subscription boxes, school library setup, and literacy development. Established in 2018, we cater to parents and schools by offering tailored collections categorized for different growth stages: Seedlings (ages 0-4), Buds (ages 5-8), and Bloomers (ages 8+). We are currently looking for a talented and dedicated Operations Manager to drive our daily business efficiency, manage inventory, and support our mission of fostering a lifelong love of reading in children.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily business operations, ensuring seamless coordination between bookstore sales, subscription box fulfillment, and library setup services.
- Manage inventory levels, vendor relationships, and supply chain logistics for curated reading materials across all age categories (Seedlings, Buds, and Bloomers).
- Optimize internal processes, workflows, and administrative procedures to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the educational services team to coordinate school outreach programs and literacy events.
- Monitor financial performance, assist with budgeting, and prepare regular operational reports for executive management.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior operational and administrative staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in operations management, preferably within retail, publishing, or the education sector.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities with a passion for children's literacy and education.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and general office productivity tools.
- Based in Lagos, Nigeria, with a strong understanding of local logistics and business environments.
