About the Role
The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board (KTHSMB) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Nutritionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, counselling, and dietary support to patients across our various general hospitals and medical facilities in Katsina State. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary medical teams, you will help improve patient outcomes by promoting optimal health and recovery through evidence-based dietary management and nutrition education.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough nutritional assessments of patients to evaluate dietary needs and overall nutritional status.
- Develop, recommend, and monitor personalized meal and dietary plans for patient recovery.
- Provide empathetic nutrition counselling and education to patients and their caregivers.
- Track patients' nutritional progress and adjust dietary recommendations as clinically required.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals in patient care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential nutrition assessment and patient records.
- Promote healthy eating habits and participate in community health promotion activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with relevant national nutrition and food safety standards.
- Diploma, degree, or recognized professional qualification in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Solid foundational knowledge of human nutrition and clinical dietary management.
- Strong understanding of modern nutritional assessment and counselling practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work seamlessly within a fast-paced multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Relevant prior experience in a clinical or healthcare environment is a distinct advantage.
