About the Role

Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF) invites passionate and dedicated volunteer nurses to join our mission in transforming cancer care and awareness across Nigeria. Founded in 2014, MCF provides a vital support system for cancer patients, families, and caregivers who face the overwhelming emotional and financial burdens of a diagnosis. By volunteering with us, you will play a crucial role in our upcoming WalkAway Cancer Awareness Walk and ongoing community outreach programs, helping to spread awareness, inspire hope, and save lives in a collaborative and sustainable environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic health checks, blood pressure monitoring, and general wellness screenings during community outreach and the WalkAway Cancer Awareness Walk.
  • Offer empathetic counseling, guidance, and emotional support to cancer patients, survivors, and their families.
  • Educate the general public on cancer prevention, early detection signs, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with public health advocates and medical professionals to manage on-site first aid and emergency responses during foundation events.
  • Assist in organizing health workshops, patient support groups, and fundraising advocacy campaigns.

Qualifications
  • Valid nursing license and current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • Demonstrated passion for oncology care, public health advocacy, and community service.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and empathetic listening skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced volunteer teams and diverse community settings.
  • Prior experience in volunteering or community health outreach is an added advantage.
