About the Role
The Obaland Magazine and Newspaper, an established international media company operating across Nigeria and Italy since 2009, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated News Reporter to join our team in Benin City. In this role, you will play a vital part in gathering, writing, and delivering concrete news and stories spanning entertainment, fashion, art, culture, lifestyle, and business to our wide readership. We are looking for a passionate storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced media environment and is committed to journalistic integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Research, investigate, and write compelling news stories, features, and articles across various beats including entertainment, culture, and business.
- Conduct interviews with relevant sources, public figures, and community members to gather accurate and engaging information.
- Meet strict daily and weekly publication deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and other media professionals to produce high-quality multimedia content.
- Utilize basic digital skills and content management systems to publish stories efficiently for our digital and print platforms.
- Must be able and willing to work physically from our Benin City office.
- Open to experienced media professionals, fresh graduates in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, or related fields, and talented individuals eager to learn.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively in a team.
- Demonstrated creativity, responsibility, and a strong commitment to journalistic ethics.
