About the Role
Lounge FM Benin is a newly expanding branch of the Ann Obaseki-owned Lounge Network, bringing its signature urban music and culture sound to Benin City. We are seeking dynamic News Casters and Editors to join our growing media team. In this role, you will oversee editorial quality, write and edit engaging news content, and deliver professional news broadcasts in close collaboration with our on-air presenters and producers.
Key Responsibilities- Write, edit, and proofread accurate and engaging news content for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Deliver professional, clear, and engaging news casts on-air.
- Collaborate with producers, on-air presenters, and reporters to coordinate daily news bulletins.
- Oversee editorial quality and ensure all content meets broadcasting standards and ethics.
- Stay updated on local, national, and international current affairs relevant to our audience.
- Fact-check stories and conduct interviews when necessary to gather reliable information.
- Proven experience working as a News Caster, Journalist, or Editor in a broadcast media environment.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, or a related field.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong, clear voice for broadcasting.
- Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight broadcasting deadlines.
- Familiarity with modern broadcast equipment and digital audio workstations.
