About the Role

Jaza Energy, a pioneering last-mile solar energy company providing battery rentals in off-grid communities, is seeking a dynamic and bilingual New Markets Finance Specialist. In this high-impact role, you will lead the successful implementation of finance workstreams for all new market launches, ensuring seamless entity setups, robust accounting systems, and strict regulatory compliance across Anglophone and Francophone Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all finance workstreams for new market expansions, developing detailed implementation plans and managing timelines proactively.
  • Coordinate entity setups, including banking, tax registrations, and statutory compliance with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Implement accounting systems, internal controls, and scalable operating procedures prior to operational launch.
  • Act as interim Country Accountant for newly established markets, supporting month-end closes, treasury activities, and mentoring local teams.
  • Standardize finance implementation toolkits and checklists to drive efficiency across future regional expansions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications like ACCA or CPA are an advantage.
  • 6 to 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including multi-entity or multi-country operations.
  • Fluency in both English and French to support operations across diverse African markets.
  • Strong expertise in IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls, and QuickBooks Online or other ERP systems.
  • Proven project management skills with experience in new market setups and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
