About the Role
The National Institute for Nigerian Languages (NINLAN), an autonomous inter-university centre under the regulation of the National Universities Commission (NUC), is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Driver (Mechanic) to join our transport team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation services while ensuring that all institutional vehicles are maintained in optimal mechanical condition.
Key Responsibilities- Drive institute vehicles safely and punctually for official duties, meetings, and assignments across designated routes.
- Perform routine mechanical checks, maintenance, and minor repairs on institute vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logs, recording mileage, fuel consumption, and service schedules.
- Adhere strictly to Nigerian traffic laws, safety regulations, and institute driving policies at all times.
- Promptly report major mechanical faults, accidents, or required servicing to the appropriate administrative department.
- Ensure cleanliness of assigned vehicles both inside and out on a daily basis.
- Possession of relevant trade test certificates, professional driving certifications, or mechanical diplomas.
- Valid Nigerian driver's license with a clean driving record and extensive professional driving experience.
- Proven working knowledge of automobile mechanics, troubleshooting, and routine vehicle maintenance.
- Strong demonstration of personal integrity, honesty, and professional discipline.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with staff and visitors.
