About the Role
Dangote Cement PLC is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Mining Specialist to join our high-performing team at the Ibese Plant. In this critical role, you will be responsible for optimizing extraction processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring sustainable mining practices within one of Africa's largest manufacturing conglomerates.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and environmental impact evaluations to ensure project viability.
- Oversee and optimize extraction processes using advanced mining techniques for safe and efficient operations.
- Collaborate closely with geologists to assess the composition and distribution of mineral deposits.
- Develop comprehensive mining plans, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, and project budgeting.
- Monitor operational performance continuously, implementing strategies to boost productivity and minimize costs.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and statutory requirements.
- Supervise, mentor, and train engineering teams and on-site personnel to foster technical expertise.
- Maintain accurate documentation, compliance records, and detailed project status reports.
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies and local host communities.
- Stay abreast of emerging industry trends, innovative mining technologies, and global best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 9 to 12 years of demonstrable experience in mining operations or engineering roles.
- Proficiency in industry-standard mining software and computerized design tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of local mining laws, regulatory frameworks, and environmental standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
