About the Role

The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board is seeking a dedicated and qualified Midwife Officer II to join our esteemed healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive maternal and neonatal healthcare services across our network of general hospitals and clinics in Katsina State. You will play a crucial part in improving maternal and child health outcomes by ensuring safe deliveries, providing compassionate patient care, and adhering to strict clinical protocols and infection prevention standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to patients
  • Assist and manage normal deliveries safely within clinical guidelines
  • Monitor maternal and fetal conditions closely during pregnancy and labour
  • Provide immediate resuscitation and essential care to newborns after delivery
  • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and vaccinations
  • Educate expectant mothers on maternal, neonatal, and reproductive health
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and clinical documentation
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
  • Identify and promptly refer high-risk obstetric cases to appropriate specialists
  • Support family planning and community reproductive health initiatives
Qualifications
  • Possession of a Registered Midwife (RM) qualification
  • Current registration and good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
  • Must possess a valid, up-to-date practicing license
  • Strong clinical skills in maternal and neonatal healthcare management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care abilities
  • Relevant clinical experience in a recognized healthcare facility
