About the Role
Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to assisting civilian victims of crises, conflicts, and natural disasters. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Midwife to join our humanitarian mission in Nigeria, delivering critical healthcare services to vulnerable populations to help them regain independence and dignity.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Midwife will operate under the direct supervision of the Health and Nutrition Supervisor, delivering comprehensive Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) and Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services in accordance with PUI protocols and universal standards.
- Perform antenatal consultations, screening tests, risk identification, and systematic prophylactic treatments for pregnant women.
- Conduct safe deliveries following strict hygiene and clinical protocols, while managing SRH emergency cases.
- Provide postnatal care within the six weeks following delivery, family planning counseling, and SGBV survivor identification and support.
- Manage an efficient patient referral system, track clinical outcomes, and coordinate logistics with specialists.
- Maintain accurate medical data collection, daily epidemiological tracking, consumption reports, and participate in health education and outbreak response activities.
- Valid professional midwifery license and relevant nursing or midwifery degree.
- Proven clinical experience in maternal and child healthcare within humanitarian or clinical settings.
- Strong knowledge of BEmONC, ANC, PNC, and family planning protocols.
- Excellent communication, team coordination, and data recording skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain clean working environments.
