About the Role
APM Terminals, a global leader in port operations and container terminal management, is seeking a skilled and proactive MHC Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of our Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHCs) and associated systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient port operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of Mobile Harbour Cranes, spreaders, and auxiliary systems in compliance with OEM standards.
- Lead and supervise crane technicians, electricians, and mechanics, ensuring effective task allocation, handovers, and structured technical mentorship.
- Analyze equipment breakdowns, perform rigorous root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Track and review critical maintenance KPIs including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, and PM/CM ratios.
- Enforce strict HSE standards, conducting toolbox talks, risk assessments, and Lockout/Tagout procedures across all operations.
- Manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical component availability while optimizing overall stock levels within the CMMS.
- HND or Bachelor’s degree (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a supervisory maintenance role within a port, terminal, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong expertise in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems with the ability to interpret technical schematics.
- Good knowledge of Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), STEP 7 SIMATIC Manager, and SINAMICS drives.
- Demonstrated experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP PM or IFS.
