About the Role
Imo Robotic Surgery and Oncology Centre Limited is a pioneering, state-of-the-art medical institution established through a strategic Public-Private Partnership with the Imo State Government. Located at the Imo State Specialist Hospital in Umuguma, Owerri, we are poised to become West Africa's premier hub for advanced minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive cancer care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Medical Officer to join our professional healthcare team and help drive our mission to eliminate outbound medical tourism by providing cutting-edge oncological expertise and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive clinical care, diagnosis, and treatment to patients visiting the centre.
- Collaborate with consultant surgeons, oncologists, and multidisciplinary teams in managing complex cases.
- Monitor patient recovery, particularly those undergoing advanced minimally invasive and robotic procedures.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and adhere to international best practices in patient safety.
- Participate in emergency response, ward rounds, and continuous medical education programs.
- Possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MBChB) degree from a recognized institution.
- Must have a valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Completion of the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a reputable hospital setting.
