About the Role
Genesis Specialist Hospital, a leading surgical center in Lagos featuring state-of-the-art operating rooms and comprehensive surgical services, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Officer to join our dynamic healthcare team in Ikeja, Lagos. This full-time, on-site role involves delivering exceptional direct patient care, including clinical assessment, accurate diagnosis, and effective management of various medical and surgical conditions in collaboration with our expert consultants and specialists.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough clinical assessments, diagnoses, and management plans for both inpatient and outpatient cases.
- Review patients regularly, document accurate clinical findings, and order and interpret diagnostic investigations.
- Participate actively in treatment planning for critical care, surgical, oncology, and pain management cases.
- Assist qualified surgeons in surgical procedures and provide comprehensive perioperative patient care.
- Collaborate during multidisciplinary ward rounds, case reviews, and quality improvement activities.
- Educate patients and their families, ensuring clear communication and adherence to hospital protocols.
- Possession of a recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and a valid license to practice from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Successful completion of Housemanship and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
- Demonstrated clinical competence in general medical practice with exposure to surgical or critical care environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team of physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and excellent clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-acuity environment, manage emergencies, and work flexible shifts including weekends and on-call duties.
