Imo Robotic Surgery and Oncology Centre Limited is a pioneering, state-of-the-art medical institution established through a strategic Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the Imo State Government. Located at the Imo State Specialist Hospital in Umuguma, Owerri, our centre is poised to become West Africa's premier hub for advanced minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive cancer care. We are driven by a mission to eliminate outbound medical tourism by integrating cutting-edge medical technology with world-class clinical expertise. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team and contribute to accurate, timely patient diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and pathology to aid in cancer diagnosis and surgical planning.
- Collect, process, and label patient biological specimens accurately while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot sophisticated laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliable test results.
- Manage inventory of laboratory reagents, supplies, and materials, reporting shortages promptly to management.
- Record test results meticulously in the laboratory information system and ensure data integrity and patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate closely with pathologists, oncologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to support exceptional patient care.
- Comply with all health, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards within the medical facility.
- Minimum of an Associate Degree, National Diploma, or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Science or related discipline.
- Current and valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Proven work experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician in a recognized hospital or diagnostic laboratory.
- Strong proficiency in operating modern laboratory diagnostic equipment and automated analysers.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
