About the Role
Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, is a leading tertiary healthcare institution committed to delivering exceptional medical services, training, and research. We are currently seeking a qualified and dynamic Medical Laboratory Technician to join our professional healthcare team. In this role, you will provide vital diagnostic support to physicians and contribute to improving patient health outcomes across our various medical departments.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, prepare, and process biological specimens such as blood, tissue, and urine for laboratory analysis.
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests accurately under the supervision of senior medical laboratory scientists.
- Maintain, calibrate, and sterilize laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Record test results meticulously into the hospital database and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, quality control standards, and infection control guidelines within the laboratory.
- Manage laboratory reagent inventory and report shortages to the appropriate departmental head in a timely manner.
- Must have successfully completed a rigorous three-year training programme in a recognized School of Health Technology.
- Possession of a valid practicing license and current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) for the Technician Cadre.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail in handling sensitive medical samples.
- Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
