About the Role
Federal University Lafia, a fast-growing institution established in 2011 with a commitment to academic excellence and healthcare development, is currently seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist. Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and pathology to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensure the accurate operation, maintenance, and calibration of advanced medical laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Maintain strict quality control standards and adhere to safety protocols to prevent contamination and workplace accidents.
- Manage laboratory inventory, requisition supplies, and ensure reagents are properly stored and handled.
- Collaborate with medical doctors, researchers, and other healthcare professionals to interpret lab results and support clinical decisions.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential records of all laboratory tests, patient data, and diagnostic reports in compliance with institutional guidelines.
- Possess a good first degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must be duly registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) formerly known as IMLTN, with a valid practicing license.
- Successful completion of the mandatory one (1) year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or presentation of an official exemption certificate.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
