About the Role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a prominent leader in the Nigerian manufacturing and FMCG sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Technician to join our state-of-the-art facility in Apapa, Lagos. In this role, you will play a crucial part in minimizing downtime and ensuring the optimal performance of our extensive milling and production infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all routine maintenance and planned preventive maintenance jobs on plant machinery are carried out strictly and timely.
- Maintain the smooth running of all valves, pressure gauges, electric motors, and pumps.
- Execute the daily lubrication plan for pumps, gearboxes, couplings, and other moving parts.
- Perform daily and periodic checks on all mechanical components to prevent misalignment and wear.
- Promptly troubleshoot and resolve unusual conditions in moving parts, such as conveyors, before issues escalate.
- Adhere strictly to safe work procedures, ensuring personal safety and compliance with Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) requirements.
- Report daily activities to the line manager and shift coordinator to maintain operational efficiency.
- Possession of Trade Test 1, 2, and 3 certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of cognate experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage materials efficiently and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
