About the Role
Prima Corporation Limited, the leading manufacturer of preforms and caps in West Africa, is looking for a skilled and driven Mechanical Team Lead to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will provide critical technical leadership to ensure our production lines, utility systems, and plant machinery operate at peak performance, supporting our commitment to uninterrupted manufacturing excellence and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities to guarantee maximum equipment availability, reliability, and workplace efficiency.
- Ensure seamless planning for mold changes, punch servicing, and comprehensive mechanical maintenance with all required tools and spares ready.
- Implement and manage strategic preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance plans to completely eliminate unplanned production downtime.
- Develop, coach, and mentor plant technicians while fostering strong working relationships with relevant Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Utilities, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Promptly address and resolve all maintenance issues while strictly upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Bachelor Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5 to 8 years of proven mechanical maintenance experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong expertise in root cause analysis, maintenance planning, and utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting production equipment, utility systems, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and packaging machinery.
- Prior experience in the plastic/preform industry or high-volume packaging manufacturing is considered a strong advantage.
