About the Role
Dangote Cement Plc is currently seeking a dynamic, results-driven Mechanical Manager to lead the mechanical maintenance team at our Obajana Power Plant. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical maintenance and repair services are executed efficiently, safely, and in strict compliance with established industry guidelines and corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities- Generate and manage work orders for identified mechanical issues within the power plant.
- Prioritize and assign maintenance tasks to skilled technicians, providing expert guidance for complex troubleshooting.
- Ensure all mechanical repairs meet high-quality standards and adhere to strict safety regulations.
- Implement and oversee comprehensive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Promote a culture of workplace safety, health compliance, and good housekeeping during all maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to execute ad-hoc engineering duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in gas-based power plant operations.
- Extensive technical knowledge in maintaining gas turbines, air compressors, natural gas compressors, cooling towers, pumps, valves, and firefighting systems.
- Familiarity with reverse osmosis and water treatment plant maintenance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
