About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading industrial conglomerate, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Mechanical Manager - Power Plant to join our esteemed team in Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical maintenance and repair services within our gas-based power plant are executed to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and quality, supporting our mission to drive industrial self-sufficiency across the continent.
Key Responsibilities- Generate, prioritize, and assign work orders for mechanical system repairs to skilled maintenance staff
- Oversee maintenance and repairs to ensure strict compliance with established operational procedures and safety guidelines
- Direct maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical and technical issues
- Implement and manage comprehensive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance schedules
- Promote a culture of workplace safety, occupational health, and good housekeeping across all maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and optimize power plant performance
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in gas-based power plant operations and maintenance
- Extensive technical knowledge of Gas Turbines, Air Compressors, Natural Gas Compressors, Cooling Towers, and Water Treatment Plants
- Proficiency in maintaining centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, various valve types, and industrial firefighting systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office suite
