About the Role
Borno Women Development Initiative (BOWDI) is a dynamic, women-led, registered non-governmental and non-profit organization headquartered in Borno State, Nigeria. We have been actively engaged in humanitarian and development activities across the Northeast, focusing heavily on education, peace-building, advocacy, food security, livelihood, and protection. We are currently seeking a dedicated and analytical Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer to strengthen our program quality, data management, and reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement robust MEAL frameworks, tools, and systems for all humanitarian and development projects.
- Lead data collection, verification, analysis, and reporting to ensure accurate tracking of project indicators and milestones.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation, assess progress, and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Manage the beneficiary feedback and complaints mechanism (AAP) to ensure accountability to affected populations.
- Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing sessions among project teams based on evaluation findings and best practices.
- Collaborate with program managers to draft high-quality periodic progress reports for donors and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional experience in MEAL roles within the NGO or humanitarian sector.
- Strong proficiency in data collection and analysis software (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SPSS, STATA, or PowerBI).
- Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, gender mainstreaming, and protection principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to write comprehensive donor reports.
- Familiarity with Northeast Nigeria operational context and humanitarian standards (Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standard) is a distinct advantage.
