About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and visionary Managing Director (MD) to lead our Microfinance Bank into its next phase of exponential growth and market dominance within the Nigerian financial sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction, developing and executing business strategies and annual growth initiatives.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, aggressive customer acquisition, and overall market expansion.
  • Oversee comprehensive lending and credit operations to maintain a healthy, sustainable loan portfolio.
  • Formulate and execute effective loan recovery strategies and actively manage non-performing loans.
  • Ensure robust risk management, internal control systems, and the highest standards of corporate governance.
  • Guarantee strict compliance with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations, relevant laws, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor financial performance, liquidity, capital adequacy positions, and departmental key performance indicators.
  • Lead product innovation and service delivery strategies to meet evolving customer financial needs.
  • Mentor, motivate, and develop a high-performing executive management team and foster organizational accountability.
  • Represent the institution effectively at high-level industry, regulatory, and stakeholder engagements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Master Degree or relevant professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA, or MBA will be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in banking, microfinance, or broader financial services.
  • At least 5 years in senior executive leadership roles within a regulated Nigerian financial institution.
  • In-depth expertise in microfinance operations, credit underwriting, risk management, and strategic financial planning.
  • Demonstrated track record of scaling businesses, driving profitability, and navigating CBN regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, communication, and decision-making abilities with uncompromising integrity.
